For those of us who like to take a closer look to another side, a less bighter side of it, of the music, when hearing the first notes, the first screams that haunt this dark gem, we can only marvel at the vast array of pure despair and solitude!
Based in the dark poetry of the Canadian Émile Nelligan, this project created by Canadian musicians, is, by all means, an huge blow in our deepest fears.
What stands apart, right from the start, is the crushing sense of loneliness. It´s the despair of loosing something...of keep searching for something.

Monarque, the vocalist, i alreday knew, mostly from one of his many "faces", the project "Monarkh". His vocals, loosing all possible trace of humanity...Yes, i alreday knew the strange feeling of distress that this voices causes...
Morphee, the multi-instrumentist, creates the solid sound wall that turns this into a master piece. Make no mistake: This is black metal in its most infamous trace.

"Thrène" reveals the intense words of a poet. They are sad and they are lonely. They utter nightmare of ghosts and forgotten love.
Monarque screams the poetry and keeps on screaming more! From his throat comes more than mere words, all of them in French, comes pain and an acute sense of sofocation!
There aren´t many who can spit the words like him. Many, many times, his mouth opens and something comes from it: Its an horrible owl. It torments our brain and distorts our feelings! And believe me, Monarque can scream and owl for a long time!
What Morphee has achieved isn´t an easy task. Trying to creat the perfect soundtrack for the disturbing poetry and the insane vocals, must have been gigantic!
But he found the solution. The sound, harsh and somehow primal, bring a sense of "old"...
Its an ancient and ghostly sound. Like listening from far away. Like entering in a ghost house.
None is more disturbing than a sound that "creeps" on you! A sound that crawls in darkness and despair. Such is the sense of it...

It is a monument of solitude and it brings the senses to an ambiance of caos and darkness. Strange and fascinating.

Some might think that the this is not real Black metal. I desagree. It bathes in its own radiance and it screams in our ears, sad and uncanny. Ghostly...
